Gates & Fences

Taking measurements in your yard is the first step in making a site plan, it is important that the boundaries of your property will appear on the plan along with structures, sidewalks, trees, shrubs and planting beds. You may get a new perspective on how your project fits in by doing the site plans.

Handling slope

It is much easier to build a fence when the ground is flat and leveled, but few landscapes are entirely flat. There are two options to handle slope, contouring and stepping. In a contoured fence the stringers are parallel to the ground and the post and sidings are plumbed to the earth. Picket fence panels may be racked out of square for slight contouring. Stepped panels keep an even height between posts and are horizontal.  Stepping fences is the only way to manage slope when working with panels that are pre-fabricated and cannot be trimmed.
