Fireplace screens should be installed in front of the fireplace openings in order to eliminate the dangers from sparks and to keep young children from direct contact with the fire. Most of the wire mash screens are not visually attractive, it better to go with screens that are suspended across the opening and can be removed when you need to access the fireplace. Glass screens or doors are highly recommended, for their attractiveness and safety. These glass screens can prevent smoke from being blown back down the chimney into the room.
