How to Create A Relaxing Bathroom

When it comes to your bathroom it may be the only place in the house that you can go to and lock the door to enjoy at least a half of an hour of peace and quiet to relax while you soak in the tub. However, when you do finally manage to escape the chaos in the house you look around the bathroom and find it hard to relax. That is because your bathroom needs a makeover.

When you are ready to decorate your bathroom to be a quiet and relaxing place to get away from the demands of a family, the telephone always ringing, and the office trying to call you on your cell phone, keep reading.

The Overall Look

The overall look of your bathroom is either going to inspire you or scare you. When you look around, what do you see? The color can affect what you feel when you are in the room. If the color is too dark it may not be easy to relax. On the other hand, if the color is too bright you may find it too distracting to relax. You need to find the balance in color before you can relax.

Neutral colors are colors that blend in to create a balanced look. These colors are cream, beige, tan, green and all the other colors that you see around that is natural; earth tones. The color of the sky, the color of the trees, the color of soil, rocks, and more. You should make neutral colors your main color in your bathroom and accent with other more predominant colors.

Floors

The floor is very important because it must balance with the color on your walls and it must have a bright color compared to the walls. The reason for that is because you need to add a few bright colors in among your decor otherwise your room will look and feel too drab. You need area rugs down on the floors and they must be made from absorbent material. Cotton rugs are particularly absorbent. You can choose from a bright array of area rug colors such as orange, blue, red, and more. If you have too many colors in your bathroom, just add a solid white color rug down on the floor to balance it out.

Accessorize

You can accessorize your bathroom with your one bright color that you choose for your bathroom. Accessories for your bathroom include towels, shower curtains, soap holder, washcloths, and more.

Once you accessorize you will complete your look and like the way that your bathroom feels when you are in there. Be sure to line your bathtub with candles, incense, and light them up when you want to soak in the tub. If you feel guilty for soaking in the bathtub, put a timer in the bathroom and set it for a certain time, for example thirty minutes. When your time is up you can get out of the bathroom and not feel guilty.
